Kaskade – Live @ Coachella

Deemed America’s top DJ, Kaskade put on a show for the ages during this years Coachella Festival in the Indio desert. Lucky for us, this angel of a human posted his Sahara tent headlining set. Enjoy this set full of Kaskade greats and some awesome new mash ups, PrivateParty!

Out of nowhere it seems, Kaskade has jumped on Usher’s new hit single, “Climax”, originally produced by Diplo. Kaskade has yet again used his magic to develop a great remix to an R&B stars track. Ushers vocals and catchy hook are a perfect fit with Kaskades progressive/vocal house style. This track is going to be a huge record this summer and has the potential to be played in various Dj sets and clubs worldwide.

Above & Beyond – Love Is Not Enough Remixes

With the Group Therapy album nearing a year old now Above & Beyond continues to keep it on the forefront of everyones minds. With each new single release come a new take on their own work and remixes from friends all across the EDM community.  The most recent release is Love Is Not Enough featuring Zoë Johnston, to me one of the most powerful songs from Group Therapy. This is the largest single release from the album thus far, actually split up into three EP’s.

The first EP includes the Radio and Extended mixes of the original song as well as the Above & Beyond Club mix. Although I do very much enjoy the club mix and the new take it brings to the song I still feel A&B had it best with the original or extended mix. On this EP they also included the Andrew Bayer & James Grant Remix of Prelude, first released on Anjunadeep 04 last month this track is vastly different then the original and the full length version is a must!

The second EP brings in two more amazing remixes of Love Is Not Enough. First is the Kaskade Remix, no one other then Kaskade could have been a better choice to put a progressive house touch on the song and maintain the feeling! Next is the Maor Levi & Bluestone Remix, exactly what the trance family was looking for. This is the version I hope to see Above & Beyond play this summer, its truly a massive trance tune that I feel will bring just as powerful of a moment as when they play Sun & Moon!

The last EP has a dubstep remix by Synkro and a drum & bass remix provided by MRZO, an alias for Mat Zo. Again both remixes are good and well worth listening too, they just dont compare to the other two remixes for me. I was very happy though to see such good DNB production from Mat Zo who has said multiple time that he is working on all genres for his album this year. Synkro also should not be overlooked, he provided a deep calm dub take on the song which is a style I have become very fond of after hearing Seven Lions Remixes of Satellite and You Got To Go  which is also included in this EP.

Kaskade – Freaks of Nature Tour

Originally from a small town in Illinois, Kaskade (Ryan Raddon) is what you can truly call a dynamic producer. After spending hundreds of hours developing his DJ’ing skills in his Utah dorm room, he has grown into an international sensation. With nine albums, countless singles, several compilations, and side projects such as Late Night Alumni over the years, Kaskade has been a huge player in the growth of EDM’s popularity. Collaborating with artists such as Skylar Grey, Skrillex, Adam K and Deadmau5, his versatility and unique sound make him one of the most desired names in the game. Which is why, when COllective started hearing rumors of a Kaskade tour awhile back, excitement quickly started to build. Today Kaskade made it official, the “Freaks of Nature” tour will kick off late May and run through the summer. The tour already consists of 40 dates with more to be announced soon, including possibly EDC Las Vegas. We will be at the show on August 1st at Red Rocks Amphitheater! Kaskade fans new and old won’t be disappointed as we experience this new leg of his musical journey. These shows are sure to be full of energy, emotion, and of course great music! We will keep you up to date on more information for this tour including openers and added dates. For most dates a limited number of tickets have been released at a lower cost on the tour website. Happy Holiday’s to all! Hope that all of you who are on break from school are using this time to catch up with family and friends, and do some dancing here and there too. Tonight, in the spirit of the holiday season we’re bringing back the BOOM Movement headphone giveaway, for those of you who don’t remember how it works, you will have to not only be a fan of Remix-Nation on Facebook, but you will have to like the Facebook post about these TNT’s (must respond with 24 hours of the post). Kaskade has had another huge year, and a large part of that were his summer hits Eyes and Turn It Down. As you already know they come from his newest artist album Fire & Ice, and the official remixes for Eyes came out at the end of last month. Now the long awaited remixes for Turn It Down have been released and each of the four offer a great spin on the original hit. Whether you prefer Deniz Koyu’s hard hitting club version or the more electro Carli take on it, we are sure you will enjoy one or even all of these mixes!
