Deadmau5 releases 4 tracks on Soundcloud

Deadmau5 is the man. He just released 4 unexpected tracks on his Soundclound under the name “fuckmylife”. Amazingly, when I search “fuckmylife” in google, his link is the first search result.
Maybe that’s because I frequently visit his soundcloud, or maybe it’s because everything he does goes viral, somebody please double check for me. Anyway, with no song previews or release dates, Deadmau5 drops these tracks with no warning. Each track conveys his signature progressive house style with intricate build ups that lead us (the curious listeners), into unexpected, softer drops. Although the tracks are not for download, I still find myself tracking to the beginning of the song, Closer Rev.2 every seven  minutes just to be able to hear it again.

RANDOM?

deadmau5 – The Veldt

I remember watching the 24-hour streaming session when deadmau5 produced this song about a month ago. At one point, deadmau5 told his fans that he needed vocals for the track, and thanks to a tweet from a follower, he got what he needed.

Those who were viewing the stream also heard his managers first impressions of the track. Even cooler, he linked up with the fan vocalist, Chris James and we listened to him talk about what a great experience it had been collaborating on the song with deadmau5. Deadmau5 repeadetly stated that he felt lucky for these vocals to fall into his hands and that the vocals were really good! I became attached to this song from the first time I heard it, it’s totally different and unexpected, and I love it.

Moguai: BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix

If you guys are fans of the heavy punk techno/electro techno style, then this is an essential mix that well, is essential. Earlier this morning, 3:00am London time, German DJ/producer Moguai paid a visit to the BBC Radio 1 studio to drop an absolutely insane essential mix in his essential mix debut. It is a big deal to be invited to play the BBC Radio 1 Essential mix as they only invite the best. Moguai’s 2 hour mix incorporates his best remixes and most of his hit songs, including his new hit “Monkey Business” around the 1:30:00. He also throws in some Deadmau5 who helped give him a popularity boost by including him on the Mau5trap label. Moguai does a phenomenal job by intertwining multiple genres and different electronic styles to make this set a great one. 2011 was a gigantic year for Moguai as he proved himself as a DJ on the rise. I was lucky enough to see him perform at EDC in Vegas last year and he absolutely destroyed it, leading him to be one of my favorite performances of the whole weekend. This has been my favorite essential mix since Arty dropped his a few weeks ago so you should download and it give it a listen. You won’t be disappointed.

Deadmau5 at AGENCY 2/7/12- Los Angeles

As the crowd trickled into AGENCY for yet another unannounced, top DJ performance on Tuesday (2/7/12), many stopped in their tracks without having made it just a few feet from the entryway. Instantly, jaws dropped at the sight of a large mask, decorated with electric videogame emoticons, set alongside DJ Travis Emmons. After taking a closer look, it became clear AGENCY was treating guests to an exclusive, unique performance on this particular evening. Deadmau5’s video game head sat atop the decks behind the DJ booth, waiting to make its AGENCY debut.

After the Meowingtonx HAX DVD release, announcement of his performance with the Foo Fighters at the Grammys, and receiving three nominations for the Juno Awards, Deadmau5 flew to Los Angeles to treat AGENCY partygoers to a surprise performance that will forever be etched in their memories. Donning a red t-shirt and jeans, Deadmau5 took the decks around midnight, diving into his set without inhibition. Guests were treated to favorite tracks including “Raise Your Weapon,” “Tiny Dancer,” “Strobe,” and “Around the World.” At a point, Deadmau5 teased the crowd with the intro to the 2010 International Dance Awards Best Electro Track winner “Ghosts & Stuff.” Once the song dropped, fog cannons projected a thick disguise over the crowd, building an unmistakably rare energy within the venue. Eyes squinted as guests attempted to peer through the thick fog and catch a glimpse of Deadmau5 leading the night. Once able, all eyes (and iphones) focused on this world renowned artist for the remainder of the evening.

As 4 am quickly approached, guests remained strong. Flashes flickered across the venue while many got in their last few photos and videos of Deadmau5’s performance. Up until the last few minutes of his set, AGENCY remained packed with guests streaming with adrenaline. The surprise of having the #4 DJ in the world perform in such an intimate setting fashioned an inimitable, magnetic energy within the venue that could not be weakened. Though leaving such a spectacular evening behind proved to be difficult for guests, Deadmau5’s electrifying performance left party goers with his distinctive beats and images of his likeness forever ingrained in their memory. -LadyInThePinkDress

Deadmau5 – Cthulhu Dreams

Well it looks like Joel Zimmerman, aka Deadmau5 has still been doing what he does best even though he has been on tour. Deadmau5 is easily one of the best music producers in the EDM genre, playing a large roll with the expansion of the music. Released today on his soundcloud and showed to me by my friend Jared and Deadmau5 enthusiast, “Cthulhu Dreams” is dark and heavy at the same time. This is obviously a sequel to his previous song “Cthulhu Sleeps” which was released on his 4X4=12 album. Pieces from this such as the buildup are identifiable in the new ‘Cthulhu2″. Although this song is still good, I personally am not fully convinced that this is the final version. My reasoning which was also brought to my attention by the same friend is this: first off, Deadmau5 has been on tour so he hasn’t been in his studio. However, with that being said this song shows how musically gifted he actually is because it could be argued that this song was composed solely on a computer or in a studio not of his own. My second belief kind of feeds off of my first. Because he hasn’t been in his personal studio, I think that it lacks an essential part that when added, will put this song over the top. I believe that it is missing a little extra bass or specific chord after the drop. When or if this does come, the song will be another one of Deadmau5′s greats and will be shared by us to you. Lastly, the title Cthulhu2 doesn’t fit with Deadmau5′s style. After all he is known to make sequels to his previous songs that feed off each other. However with this all being said, I could be wrong; he is one of the best, if not the best DJ ever while I am just an avid follower and enthusiast.

On a side note, the mayor of Las Vegas Carolyn Goodman, officially proclaimed Jan 2nd in Las Vegas ‘Deadmau5 Day”. If Deadmau5 keeps this up, he may have more than one day named after him.

Mord Fustang-We Are Now Connected

Two days ago, Mord Fustang came out with another song that stays true to his electro style.  Although this song is still considered electro, it doesn’t have the typical extreme drop that usually comes with the electro house style. Nevertheless, this song still has what most electro house fans look for in a song. The song starts off with some high hats which lead into some electro chords. Something else that stuck out to me with this song was some of the similarities it has to Deadmau5′s song “The Reward is Cheese” during the hook. Both songs have that heavy bass and drum with a repetitive chord that eventually becomes higher pitch. What do you guys think? Post a comment and let me know what you think!
