Chuckie ft. Gregor Salto- What Happens In Vegas (Remixes)

In my last article I vented my excitement about the opportunity to go to Vegas. I also talked about how it was an incredible coincidence that the song I was writing about was called Vegas. Well, this weeks subject of critique must be a divine sign from the gods.  I have been sent THREE tracks concerning Vegas. The first of the trifecta, Produced by Chuckie (feat. Gregor Salto) and remixed by our own affiliated artist Pierce Fulton, “What happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas” is a great track injected with some Vegas insanity. Layered sounds and textures create a really smooth and pumping sound that is better heard the louder it’s played. The Cold Blank remix is just as rhythmic, but with a touch of aggression that comes in the form of a thick baseline. Breaking the tie two way tie  is the TJR Remix. While all three remixes take a great original and add a great twist, TJR breaks it down and takes the crown with the heaviest drop. Because i can’t stop referencing the promised land that is Vegas, ill put these songs in the order I’d play them the next time I hit Nevada. The Pierce Fulton remix is pretty uplifting and dreamy, so this is the song that’s bumping before the night begins. The Cold Blank remix comes on when you’re not exactly sure what time it is or where you are; all you know is that everyone around you is dancing and you’re swimming in flashing lights. Three days later when you wake up, the TJR remix plays to remind you that although the morning after may be rough, the night before was too incredible to even talk about. It’s better left in Vegas.

Thursday Night Thumpers

Hello from a chilly and snowy Boulder. What could make this night better? A solid whiskey blanket and some TNT’s. Tonight’s Thumpers include a new Chuckie Mash Up, Tiesto’s Maximal Crazy remixed, and a new Thomas Gold masterpiece. Also Skrillex’s compilation with The Doors, their RE: Generation mix. I saw Skrillex play this track live on Halloween during his Scary Tings show, it is nothing less than massive. Speaking of massive, up in comer, Special Features has taken Deadmau5′s “Strobe” and electrified every portion of it, creating a even heavier dancefloor anthem! Enjoy the TNT’s, stay warm, love, PrivateParty!

Preview: Chuckie- Who Is Ready To Jump

For those of you who get the chance to see this Dutch superstar perform live, there is no question how much energy Chuckie brings to his shows. Chuckie has been traveling around the world, performing at the biggest festivals and the most famous clubs, reminding everyone that he is one of the hardest working DJs (and producers) in the industry. Over the month or so, he has been dropping a track that has fans of all genres begging for more. His new track, “Who Is Ready To Jump”, is the reason for all of this mayhem. There is no doubt in my mind that this new track will take the world by storm upon its release. This new banger has everything you are looking for when trying to amp up a crowd. It has a quick build up, but once the drop hits… all hell breaks loose! If this song doesn’t scream “PARTY!”, then I don’t know what does. The tracks release is scheduled for November 14, 2011, so make sure to  check out the preview!

Rihanna feat. Calvin Harris- We Found Love (Remixes)

Ever since the original surfaced, there has been a lot of buzz about this track and now that the music video has released it has received even more attention (9 millions views in 5 days). In the previous post made for this track I said this would be a song you would be hearing non-stop, and I couldn’t have been more right.  As the remixes for the track started to emerge it was only a matter of time before some notorious names in the industry put out their touch on the original song.  Those of you that have a twitter account have read Chuckie and R3hab’s tweets about their remixes, and after hearing them I couldn’t be happier with the results. R3hab’s radio edit turns this track into an insane club banger that you can’t get out of your head. Look for this heavy and fast paced rager coming through your pre-game speakers soon. La Sape’s remix brings a similar house feel, and the catchy baseline and will get you up and moving like you know how to do.  Chuckie’s remix is by far my favorite, listen to them all and decide for yourself. Enjoy.

Las Vegas: Marquee Nightclub 10/21/11 and 10/22/11

Friday 10/21/2011

This Friday, Chuckie is returning to Las Vegas and will be performing at his residency: The Marquee Nightclub inside the Cosmopolitan Hotel. Many times before we have covered and attended events at this venue, and this is because it is easily one of the best clubs in the country. We couldn’t be more excited to come back to Vegas and head to the Marquee to see Chuckie release a bunch of new material. For those that have seen this man perform live you know exactly what we’re looking forward to: lots of dirty dutch!

Saturday 10/22/11

Saturday night will be just as fun, as Kim Kardashian will be celebrating her birthday at the Marquee. What can you expect from one of America’s most popular female icons birthday party? A large gathering of celebrities, champagne for days, and one heck of a DJ. For this special occasion, an extremely talented DJ will be spinning: Cedric Gervais! Although some of you may not know of him, please check out his facebook and the blurb about him below.

It is an uncommon occurrence in the Electronic Dance Music scene to find an artist sensationally talented as both a DJ and a producer. Cedric Gervais is of the rare breed whose talents behind the decks translate over into the production room.

LDW Recap- Avicii 9/3/11 and Chuckie & Fatboy Slim 9/4/11

Two weeks ago I explained how the Remix Nation crew was going to be in Las Vegas, and that the Marquee invited us to attend their events! However, due to prior arrangements, we were only able to make it to two of their shows. These two shows were arguably the two best that were performed over the weekend, but there is no question that every event over Labor Day Weekend could have been just as spectacular. In my opinion, the main event of the weekend had to be Avicii and Cosmic Gate, keeping heavy note how Chuckie and Fatboy Slim did not disappoint at the day club.

Avicii & Cosmic Gate – Marquee Nightclub 9/3/11

When we arrived to the Marquee on Saturday night, we knew we were in for a real treat that night. As you walked into the club, you could immediately feel the energy in the air as everyone was so excited to see Avicii. If I am correct, Blake Jerrel made a surprise visit and actually opened for him. Thinking this was only going to be Avicii and Cosmic Gate, I was in no way expecting to get the chance to also see Blake Jerrel.

Around 12:30, Avicii hit stage and caught everyone off guard! Everyone thought that Avicii was going to be closing that night, but I guess they decided to bring him out early. The second he got up on stage, we all rushed to our table which happened to be located right next to the booth.

Being my 8th time seeing Avicii, I couldn’t wait to see what he had in store for everyone that night. After a while I found myself on the private balcony, looking down over the entire venue of the Marquee. Having been to the Marquee several times, this was a real treat for me because it gave me a whole different view and retrospect of this incredible club. The guy next to me was controlling all of the lights for the Marquee on his iPad!
Avicii’s set was pretty much flawless. He was playing hits like “Calling”, “Pressure”, and even a remix to “Starry Eyed”. Staying true to his roots, he was playing all of his own hits like “Fade into Darkness”, “Seek Bromance”, and many others. Its an incredible experience seeing this guy perform and its one you will never forget. In just over a year, he has easily become the hottest and fastest rising star in the industry and continues to sell out clubs and venues everywhere.

Chuckie & Fatboy Slim- Marquee Dayclub 9/4/11

Walking into the Marquee Day Club, I didn’t know what to expect because I had never been there before. Regardless, knowing the two headliners were going to be Chuckie and Fatboy Slim, it was a guaranteed blast! The song I walked in to happened to be the anthem of the weekend… this was Chuckie’s new track “What Happens In Vegas”. It’s been one of my favorite tracks the past few weeks, so hearing it live was awesome. Heading into the dayclub was mayhem; people were legitimately partying like there was no tomorrow!
The stage was actually very special for LDW, and it was built over the pool, making this one hell of a pool party! One thing you have to know is that this guy knows how to party… and Chuckie was dropping banger after banger. As his set was coming to a close, a very old man walked by me. Sure enough, I looked to see who it was and it was Fatboy Slim. Seeing a legend like Fatboy Slim was truly an honor for everyone in attendance. This guy has made a serious name for himself over the years and continues to do so. Not knowing what to expect from a set by him, I stayed for a while to watch it. He perfectly transgressed the party into a rowdy afternoon.

I’d like to thank the Marquee Nightlcub and Dayclub for showing us a phenomenal time! If you are ever in Vegas, I highly recommend you checking out this venue because it’s easily one of the best venues in the world!
