Our newest artist, Walden, is back at it again. This newest release titled “Between Stars” is an electro house track that again has that off beat Madeon sounding synth. When listening to this track I also hear a Mord Fustang sound, minus the wobble; a sound some may enjoy more. Over all this is yet another phenomenal production from the young Australian prodigy. The second portion of this release is a Mash Up of “Between Star” and Axwell’s “Open Your Heart” acapella. The lyrics heard around the world take this track to another level, a level Axwell himself would respect. Hello all and welcome to the first edition of Thumpers for this 2011-2012 school year. Things are off to quite a phenomenal start I must say. Hopefully if your dreading this upcoming school year this weeks TNT’s will blast you into space for some much needed moon dancing. Like all of John’s progressive songs the build up leads to melodic happiness, only this time the lyrics bring it to another level. Next up a remix from dBerrie of Tiesto’s newest song Work Hard, Play Hard and a remix of everyone’s favorite RHCP’s track, Otherside. I’m back!! After two stressful yet fantastic weeks Thumpers are back in full force. As stated in Justin’s EDC post the Nation team represented to the fullest this past weekend, soaking in the scene and the musical superbness in its entirety at EDC. This weeks Thumpers include many of my favorite tracks from the weekend at EDC. An amazing Dash Berlin Mash Up, Thomas Gold’s Adele remix and Heart Is My Religion played at the end of SHM’s set, are definitely three of my most memorable. Laidback Luke played his always spectacular set but didn’t play his latest U&I; this tune reminds me of Sandstorm for some reason, so you know it’s going to be a classic. Check out two new remixes from Hardwell that are sure to get any dance-floor grooving. Rounding out Thumpers is a whompie remix from Loadstar and Mord Fustang’s newest release. Since Save the World has been released, the boys of Swedish House Mafia went to Carlisle for the BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend. This one hour set is an hour of pure pleasure, from start to finish. My favorite part of the set is when John Martin joins SHM on stage to close out their amazing set with Save the World. Also, make sure to check out a new tune from the young gun DJ from Russia, Arty. The track is titled Around the World, and I can only imagine we will be hearing and seeing this quite a lot in the next few months to come. I am pretty bummed about the sound quality on this one, but it’s better than nothing. Enjoy!

I have been meaning to get around to this, so no better time than now. I know this is a little late, but it has taken me quite some time to form this list. This has taken me so long because I had to form their track list. I have been wanting to do this post ever since the event took place, and now the time has finally come. This was my first time seeing Swedish House Mafia live, so I didn’t know what to expect. However, I did know that whatever I was going to experience was going to be larger than life. Leaving from ULTRA, we pulled up to the event late because we wanted to catch all the good performances that day. So we ran from the cab all the way to the ticket booth on the beach. When we got there, we were told that the ticket company had left with everyone’s tickets! This was because the fire marshalls came around 5 pm, shut the doors and wouldn’t let any one in. A riot took place on the beach and the people from will call with tickets bounced. So at this point we were completely screwed because we couldn’t go back to Ultra and we had no way into the Masquerade motel. The first hour we were there, we tried figuring out a way to get inside because we knew we had to witness this event. Finally after convincing this guy that The Nation and I were media, he let us in. Walking into this lavish event, we had no idea what the night had in store for us.
As we got in, the place was PACKED. The first thing we did was move all the way up to the front. I am not sure exactly how we were able to do so, but it happened! Unfortunately we only go to see the last bit of dirty south, but oh well! (We saw him on that Thursday night at Mansion in Miami) We had the pleasure of seeing the entire set of the legendary BBC radio host, Pete Tong. After his set, everything was cleared for their infamous curtain drop. All of sudden, the curtain that had been up the entire day became the backdrop for a movie. After a few minute video introduction, the curtain dropped and the mayhem began. Their two hour set was mind blowing from start to finish, and the production of the entire event was first class. Every single track they performed was perfect for the show. The crowd and the environment was a lot more upscale than ULTRA. There were tons of famous people in attendance as well! I am so happy I decided to leave ULTRA mid-day to become a part of history at the Masquerade Motel! From us here at the Nation, we would like to thank you SHM for one hell of a night.
