Arguably one of my favorite tracks this year has come from none other than Kaskade. Voted America’s #1 DJ and a worldwide music star, one of the staples off his newest Fire & Ice album has seen a major makeover. “Eyes,” remixes was released today, mixes coming from R3hab, Alvin Risk and Swanky Tunes. All 3 are polar opposites but are enjoyable recognizing this massive hit. Try not to compare them to the original but take them as totally new tracks, PrivateParty!

Moby – After (Remixes)

Moby, one of the original American EDM producers in the game, release his newest album on May 11th of 2011. Included in the album is a track called, “After.” Two days ago a remix album of the song was released exclusively on Beatport. While the album as a whole is another Moby masetpiece, “After” has received attention from artists like Tommy Trash and Tim Mason, they have turned up the bass, turning “After” into an electro BANGER! Take a listen to the remixes below as well as Moby’s entire CD. Below is a statement from Moby regarding the CD production that I found interesting, PrivateParty!

“i don’t sleep very well when i travel. and as a result, i tend to be awake in cities when everyone else is asleep. that’s where this album, and the pictures that accompany it come from. it was primarily written late at night in cities when i felt like i was the only person awake (or alive), a soundtrack for empty cities at 2 a.m, at least that’s how i hear it. the pictures were taken on tour while i was writing the album. i wanted to show a different side of touring and traveling. a side that is often mundane, disconcerting, and occasionally beautiful. as always, thank you for listening. and hopefully see you soon.”

Radio 1 Live in Ibiza

It’s that time again. What time you ask? Time for BBC Radio 1 Live in Ibiza. Last friday night the world famous radio show broadcasted for 6 hours displaying the masterful sounds of artists like Deadmau5, Magnetic Man, Skream & Benga and Knife Party. The party included 12 hours of madness starting Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel before crushing Space Ibiza during the world famous Come Together party. Appearances also included sets from Calvin Harris, Pete Tong Vs. Carl Cox, Example and Erick Morillo.

Magnetic Man, the electronic super-group, took control of Space, igniting the crowd while impressing music fans everywhere with their versatility and true live production talent. Still upset with myself that I missed their set at Coachella this year, but this set gives me just a taste of what it could of been like.

Today, Pierce Fulton’s most anticipated remix of the year was previewed. This is Pierce’s first official release on Cr2 Records, a record label that has quickly grown to one of the worlds top house labels. Producers such as Steve Angello and Eric Prydz have both released material on Cr2 records, so we know that Pierce Fulton is on the right track. Below is a segment of the mix where Pierce’s remix was featured as a world exclusive!

It will first be released as part of the Cr2 Live & Direct Ibiza 2011 Part 2 compilation out on August 21st exclusively on beatport, and 2 weeks later on ITunes and all other digital retailers.

As the summer comes to an end, we decided to give you guys a little mix to enjoy, and who better to do it than our resident DJ, Mikael Wills.  The Nation and I chose our 10 favorite songs of the summer, and also had Mikael Wills pick some of his favorite tunes as well to compile a mini set for you all. Thursday Night Thumpers

On this magnificent evening of rage, Remix-Nation will (hopefully) be celebrating the 11,000 likes mark on Facebook. Because of this milestone I feel the pressure and the need to produce a phenomenal set of Thumpers for our amazing fans. Lets start out with a bang, no warm up nonsense, just a track from a man named Wolfgang. I was going to make a separate post just for this track and then I realized it is the definition of a Thumper, Wolfgang Gartner’s Menage A Trois. Of all the shows I have been to in my life, no one puts out as much bass, as much intensity, and as much madness as Wolfgang Gartner, those of you at EDC with me, who were lucky enough to hear this track know what I’m saying. Moving on with the Thumpers, Michael Woods newest release Bullet, a great progressive tune, and a Daft Punk remix from Nicky Romero full of bounce. Hardwell mashes up two summer hits, Ready 2 Go X Beautiful People, taking the best parts of each track, blending them together to create a smoothie I like to call dance!  Take You Higher, from Goodwill & Hook N Sling just makes me feel good and may be a nice follow up to all that Dada. Enjoy a new release from both Mau5 Trap’s Feed Me and Savoy, both dubbie tunes. I’m pooped after all this musical greatness, feeling like I performed under the pressure and hopefully y’all agree. Thursday Night Thumpers

Let me begin by congratulating our BOOM headphone winners of the past two weeks, and remind all TNT fans to like the Thumpers post on your Facebook newsfeed to have a chance to win a pair of your own. I hope y’all are ready for some loud noise tonight, tonight’s Thumpers are full of heavy drops, pumping bass-lines, and big room extravagance. I have to start with Chuckie & Gregori Klosman’s remix of Stronger, a track Chuckie dropped in his Tomorrowland set last weekend, I fell in love the second those lyrics came in. Cirez D finally released Mokba, a synth heavy, club banger. Now let me talk about Raveageddon, Alex Metric’s newest creation; unlike the soothing sound of Open Your Eyes, this track captures your brain with deep bass, a tribal rhythm, and pure speaker power. This is one of those late night, dance like no one is watching, wake up the neighborhood tracks. My favorite tune for this week is Moguai’s remix of Diamond Jigsaw, it covers the realm of of EDM, I don’t even need to explain, just listen.
