Dada Life- Rolling Stones T-Shirt (Remixes)

The banana duo has finally released the official version of “Rolling Stones T-shirt” along with remixes from Chuckie and Cazzette. They’ve been playing this track in recent sets and in their monthly podcast for a while, so i’m happy there’s finally an official version of it. It definitely has the makings of a track you’re going to hear in sets all summer. The beats within the song are catchy in general. Dada Life is known to have straight instrumental hits or songs with only a little vocals added, and this definitely falls under that category. The lyrics in the song are catchy as well and will definitely be a sing-a-long like their other hits “Kick out the epic motherfucker” and “Happy Violence”. There’s no way you can listen to this track and not wish it was summer and you were at a pool party.

As far as the remixes go, Chuckie changes it up by adding some looping and of course puts his dirty dutch spin on it with a hard dutch style drop. Cazzette’s remix gives the track a dub house feel at the beginning and adds a hard hitting dub-electro drop. They also layer warped vocals on top of the original vocals towards the end which also gives it a dubstep feel.

If you haven’t heard of Madeon, I would type this exact phrase into the Google search bar: “how the f@#$ haven’t I heard of Madeon yet” and press I’m feeling Lucky. Madeon made a huge splash when he took the honors of having the best remix of Pendulum’s The Island last year. Since then, this prodigy has been producing tracks on a regular basis and his reworks of many songs have gotten a lot of traction. A week or so ago, Remix-Nation featured Madeon’s remix of The Night Out by Martin Solveig and today, I want to present his rework of the song Que Veux Tu by Yelle. This track is a little bit more obscure, but you don’t really need to understand the language in order to truly appreciate its musical genius. Enjoy the ear candy and GTHC!

Fuck U Betta by Neon Hitch is a song that many of us have been jamming to, whether openly or in the confines of our rooms, as of late. It’s a really catchy song and already has a very dance and House oriented vibe to it. Chuckie has been able to enhance these qualities in an awesome remix of the track. He maintains the essentials of the song but is able to give it the stronger large room house vibe that Chuckie has mastered. The usual build-up and an extended electro verse make the song that much more electric during any party. I would highly recommend this song on pregame playlists because it seems to be getting an extensive amount of positive response. Enjoy the ear candy and GTHC.

Hoodie Allen & Mike Posner- Evil Woman (ft. ELO)

This song has an infectious beat, smooth vocals and some dirty rhymes. It’s just a great all around song and one that I’ve been listening to pretty constantly over the past two weeks. Mike Posner adds his signature touch of suave, silky vocals on this track. Overall, this song is sure to be great in many different contexts, whether it’s chilling at home, and getting ready to go out or at the club. This track maintains the identity of both Hoodie and Posner, while fusing the styles of both artists perfectly. We can be rest assured that this will not be the only track that these two collaborate on. On a related note, Hoodie Allen has impressed me his new album All American. His single No Interruption is sure to spread like wildfire, as will other songs off of the album including No Faith in Brooklyn (ft. Jhameel). With the start of the new year, we have decided to start a new monthly post. This is The Care Package, a mix of songs that we loved and listened to a lot in the past month. This includes new songs and old songs, from all types of EDM or really anything we think you might want to hear! Well folks, here are the top 25 remixes of 2011 (not in any order). When creating this list we took into consideration those remixes I heard played most during live sets from the biggest and best, in combination with those remixes I thought best expressed the original track with an epic twist! Whether you’re a big dubstep fan or not, we highly recommend you look into Adventure Club. Leighton James and Christian Srigley make up the duo out of Montreal and are bringing out a beautiful side of dub. They have been constantly releasing remixes recently, and with each they become more impressive. Collect Call, originally by Metric has now been given the Adventure Club treatment. This, along with all of their work thus far including our favorites Crave You and Everything To Me, are available for free download. Follow Adventure Club on Facebook and Soundcloud, and look forward to their first U.S. tour in early 2012.
