Dada Life- Rolling Stones T-Shirt (Remixes)

The banana duo has finally released the official version of “Rolling Stones T-shirt” along with remixes from Chuckie and Cazzette. They’ve been playing this track in recent sets and in their monthly podcast for a while, so i’m happy there’s finally an official version of it. It definitely has the makings of a track you’re going to hear in sets all summer. The beats within the song are catchy in general. Dada Life is known to have straight instrumental hits or songs with only a little vocals added, and this definitely falls under that category. The lyrics in the song are catchy as well and will definitely be a sing-a-long like their other hits “Kick out the epic motherfucker” and “Happy Violence”. There’s no way you can listen to this track and not wish it was summer and you were at a pool party.

As far as the remixes go, Chuckie changes it up by adding some looping and of course puts his dirty dutch spin on it with a hard dutch style drop. Cazzette’s remix gives the track a dub house feel at the beginning and adds a hard hitting dub-electro drop. They also layer warped vocals on top of the original vocals towards the end which also gives it a dubstep feel.

Hardwell & Dannic- Kontiki (Remixes)

Hardwell has collaborated with up and coming Dutch DJ Dannic on his latest track “Kontiki”.  It starts off with a nice driving bass with short sharp synths on top of it into a melodic progressive house sound, and then into a big room house drop. He also released a remix of the track done by DYRO, who is another up and coming Dutch DJ. His remix gives the track more of a electro feel by warping the original sounds and with a harder electronic drop.

Feed Me has just ended yet another American tour, and I was very excited to see him at the second to last stop in Denver this week.  As most of you know by now this tour featured Feed Me’s new custom stage design that has a very fitting name, Teeth.  The huge metal grin brings new life to the little green character that is the face of the Feed Me name.  This show is one I will reminisce about for a long time, Feed Me truly put on a great show. Like some people with custom stages this was more of a live set for him, playing his music and remixes with smooth transitions between.  I really look forward to these live shows, its nice to see artist who can perform live shows and DJ sets both very well and Feed Me is one of the best I’v seen so far.  It was one of the best thought out live sets and the visual display went along with it great.  Although another huge aspect of what made this show so great from my point of view was Feed Me brought along Kill The Noise. This was the first time I’v seen him and I was very impressed. He is one of the best mixers of bass music I have ever seen as well as being very quick fitting lots of songs into an hour set. He does this in a way that doesn’t sound rushed and is very smooth yet energetic to say the least. He also played part of his new remix for the forthcoming Deadmau5 song The Veldt which we are very hopeful will be included in the release. I look forward to Feed Me hitting the road again after the release of his album this year! We will keep you up to date on that album and be sure to check out the full photo album for Feed Me here. Be sure to suport Feed Me as well as Kill The Noise and go see them next time you get the chance!  Also follow my Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook page to keep up to date on all my photos, shows, ticket giveaways and more!

Cazzette- Bjornstammen

Cazzette uploaded this track on their Soundcloud today and I think it has the potential to become one of this year’s summer anthems. It’s a remix of a Swedish song and the remix itself contains a wide variety of sounds that you wouldn’t think would work together, but they do. The track starts off with an electro house sound, then leads in to what sounds like a flute, then goes in to a Calypso style beat, and then in to some hard bass that Cazzette is known for. The lyrics in the song are in Swedish, which Cazzette provided the translation for on their Soundcloud.

“Wherever I turn in the world
I still stand here with empty hands
Waiting for something to save me”

The song is categorized as “Dub House” on their Soundcloud, and I think that sums it up perfectly. In my opinion Dubstep and House are two very different genres on opposite sides of the spectrum, so i’m surprised how well this combination turned out. Kudos Cazzette, Kudos.

Porter Robinson- Language

After listening to this track I’m amazed that it was made by a 19 year old DJ. You’ve probably heard of Porter Robinson from his most popular track “Unison”, which has made an appearance in a lot of big name DJ sets this past year. This track is well constructed and melodically beautiful. The track goes back and forth between a progressive house and trance sound. He also plays around with the levels a lot and breaking the repetition with abrupt sound changes.  Towards the middle of the track there’s a bit of vocals by Heather Bright who did the vocals on Zedd’s track “Stars Come Out”. I definitely think we’re going to hear this a lot this up coming festival season.

Firebeatz- Miniman

Today, the DJ duo Firebeatz officially released their track “Miniman” on the Spinnin Records label. This track starts with a progressive house sound, which includes a variety of light synths. The track then peaks at the drop, which turns it in to a high-energy bass filled track.  Firebeatz is comprised of Holland natives Tim and Jurre. Their remixes along with original tracks such as “Where’s Your Head At” and “Funky Shit” have been played by a lot of big name DJ’s such as Knife Party, Sander Van Doorn, and Steve Aoki.
