Escapade Music Festival – June 30th & July 1st

Canadian based Escapade Music Festival will be taking place this summer in the Canada Aviation & Space Museum. I gotta say when I first looked at this line up I was pretty jealous that I don’t live in Canada. This two day festival has quite the eclectic line up featuring big name DJ’s of a various EDM genres along with up and coming Canadian DJ’s as well. Their line up includes big name DJ’s such as Avicii, Alesso, Eric Prydz, Sander Van Doorn, Cazzette, Thomas Gold, Dada Life, and more. They also have a special “Oh! Canada” stage which features local up and coming Canadian DJ’s. The ticket prices are reasonable in terms of other summer festival prices and I do like the fact that they released a large amount of single day tickets once the line up was announced. Usually we buy festival tickets blindly assuming they’re going to have an amazing line up so it’s nice to see a festival that encourages fans to wait to buy tickets once the line up is announced. If you live in or near Canada definitely check out this festival.

Electric Zoo- Phase 2 Lineup Revealed

Today, Made Event’s released phase 2 of the Electric Zoo line up. They’re definitely going out of their way to make their lineup better than EDC NYC’s considering this lineup is far more packed than last years. Here’s the list of the DJ’s added:

Alvin Risk
Andrew Bayer
Angger Dimas
Bart B More
Benga
Brass Fergie
Brodinski
DallasK
Diplo
DJ Bl3nd
Eco
Eliot Lipp
EOTO
Jack Beats
Jaytech
Kavinsky
Krewella
Kyau & Albert
Nervo
Norin & Rad
Orjan Nilsen
Paper Diamond
Sleepy & Boo
Treasure Fingers
W&W
Z-Trip
Zedd

Although their line up in general is pretty diverse i’m noticing there’s a lot more heavier electro/dubstep DJ’s than last year, for example Benga and Krewella. I’m also happy to see the addition of W&W since they’re considered the rising stars of the trance world. I’ve also noticed that Electric Zoo is giving a festival opportunity to a lot of up and coming DJ’s that not everyone has heard of yet such as Krewella, Mord Fustang, and Remix-Nation’s very own favorite 3LAU just to name a few. Made Event is still saying there are more DJ’s to be announced but with such a packed lineup I have no clue who they’re gonna add next. There’s been a lot of contrasting opinions of which 2012 NYC festival has the best line-up thus far. Sorry Electric Zoo, but until I see Armin Van Buuren added to that list Electric Daisy Carnival wins hands down.

If you haven’t gotten your Electric Zoo tickets yet make sure to go to the Made Event Website

Above & Beyond – Group Therapy North American Tour

Above & Beyond has announced the majority of their North American dates for this summer and they will be pretty much everywhere. As many of you most likely already knew they are making a three night run in LA, two of which already sold out. They also make stops at EDC Las Vegas and Electric Zoo New York to host Group Therapy Arena’s at these huge festivals.

After becoming addicted to Trance Around The World and seeing them at EDC last year A&B are always someone I look forward too seeing live. They really know how to make a connection with their fans and create an atmosphere only they know how. I recommend that even if your not a big Trance fan or if you haven’t seen Above & Beyond before that you make a point of seeing them this summer.

NERO has been on a U.S. tour with Dillon Francis and we went to see the show in Denver, CO at the Ogden Theater. Both had their stages, Dillon’s frosted plastic booth that changed colors with IDGAFOS in black letters, and NERO’s tall black set-up that featured screens and a video game console below the light-up signature NERO letters. Dillon Francis’ set consisted of house moobahton and a variety of songs from other styles and genres. He had great reactions from the sold out crowd when he play I.D.G.A.F.O.S. 2.0, his new song with Netsky, and Porter Robinson’s Language. NERO performed a live show, which encompassed producing their tracks live, as well as bringing their vocalist Alana. She appeared different places on stage for tracks such as Promises, Guilt, and Me and You. NERO is easily one of my favorite names in bass music, and I definitely enjoy their live shows way more than DJ sets. If you get a chance to see them live, you will not regret it. This show was epic and although I really hope to see them tour again soon, I’m far more hopeful that we will see some new tracks from NERO this summer.
