D.E.R., DJ Fist & Sebastian Massianello – Stardust (Original Mix)

I recently stumbled upon this track, which got released earlier this month on Beatport. Honestly once I downloaded it I couldn’t stop listening to it because it reminds me a lot of old school techno. This track combines sound patterns and elements that are popular in EDM today, yet the melodic pattern that gets repeated has that old school 90′s techno style and sound. It has a progressive house start with a variety of sharp synths but then it  drops in to this very very heavy bassline, which definitely wow’d me because it was so unexpected. Considering this track is labeled progressive house I was not expecting hearing a heavy bassline that i’d usually expect in a Laidback Luke track. The melodic pattern starts off acoustic and then a progressive house beat gets added underneath it. Put those two together and you have old school electronic music meets new school, which I think works very well together in this track. The DJ’s that collaborated on this track are very very new so I couldn’t find that much information on them. Even though they are very new they’re already signed on to Dirty Talk records, so I definitely think they’re names to look out for in the future.

Calvin Harris feat. Ne-yo- Let’s Go (Extended Mix + Quintino Remix)

After the monumental success of “We Found Love” Calvin Harris is back with another pop hit. Most of the time I hate when EDM DJ’s collaborate with pop artists but I think Ne-yo is a great addition to this track. He’s one of the few voices I don’t mind on an EDM track mainly cause it doesn’t over power the instrumentals. Ne-yo also has a pretty good voice and I think I like him better on the EDM tracks as opposed to his own music. The original is very pop house and of course very catchy. Like his last hit “We Found Love” this is definitely going to be big on the pop charts and played on radios all summer.

I’m pretty neutral when it comes to the original version. It’s a great pop EDM track but I definitely prefer Quintino’s remix. Quintino  makes it sound more like a straight electro track as opposed to a pop hit. He replaces the light pop-electro sounds with a deeper heavy electro sound, which I definitely prefer.

Dada Life- Rolling Stones T-Shirt (Remixes)

The banana duo has finally released the official version of “Rolling Stones T-shirt” along with remixes from Chuckie and Cazzette. They’ve been playing this track in recent sets and in their monthly podcast for a while, so i’m happy there’s finally an official version of it. It definitely has the makings of a track you’re going to hear in sets all summer. The beats within the song are catchy in general. Dada Life is known to have straight instrumental hits or songs with only a little vocals added, and this definitely falls under that category. The lyrics in the song are catchy as well and will definitely be a sing-a-long like their other hits “Kick out the epic motherfucker” and “Happy Violence”. There’s no way you can listen to this track and not wish it was summer and you were at a pool party.

As far as the remixes go, Chuckie changes it up by adding some looping and of course puts his dirty dutch spin on it with a hard dutch style drop. Cazzette’s remix gives the track a dub house feel at the beginning and adds a hard hitting dub-electro drop. They also layer warped vocals on top of the original vocals towards the end which also gives it a dubstep feel.

Yelle- Que Veux Tu (Madeon Mix)

If you haven’t heard of Madeon, I would type this exact phrase into the Google search bar: “how the f@#$ haven’t I heard of Madeon yet” and press I’m feeling Lucky. Madeon made a huge splash when he took the honors of having the best remix of Pendulum’s The Island last year. Since then, this prodigy has been producing tracks on a regular basis and his reworks of many songs have gotten a lot of traction. A week or so ago, Remix-Nation featured Madeon’s remix of The Night Out by Martin Solveig and today, I want to present his rework of the song Que Veux Tu by Yelle. This track is a little bit more obscure, but you don’t really need to understand the language in order to truly appreciate its musical genius. Enjoy the ear candy and GTHC!

The Partysquad- Badman Rave EP

You may remember hearing about The Partysquad from their collaboration with Major Lazer on the track “Original Don”, and If you’ve happened to hear a Diplo set lately you’ve definitely heard some of their tracks whether you knew it or not. Today The Partysquad released their first EP on Diplo’s label Mad Decent “Badman Rave”. The Partysquad is comprised of two Dutch DJ’s Ruben and Jerry. They are well known in the Netherlands for their Dutch electronic sound and the ability to combine it with reggae/hip-hop elements, which is very evident throughout this EP. This EP is filled with dance heavy tracks with sick Dutch style drops.

Neon Hitch- Fuck U Betta (Chuckie Club Remix)

Fuck U Betta by Neon Hitch is a song that many of us have been jamming to, whether openly or in the confines of our rooms, as of late. It’s a really catchy song and already has a very dance and House oriented vibe to it. Chuckie has been able to enhance these qualities in an awesome remix of the track. He maintains the essentials of the song but is able to give it the stronger large room house vibe that Chuckie has mastered. The usual build-up and an extended electro verse make the song that much more electric during any party. I would highly recommend this song on pregame playlists because it seems to be getting an extensive amount of positive response. Enjoy the ear candy and GTHC.

Zedd vs Bloody Beetroots vs Benassi – Shotgun Music 1.9 (Ken Loi Bootup)

I recently posted Ken Loi’s latest remix of Nordean & Minx’s “You & I”, and he’s just released this latest bootleg. He puts together Zedd’s “Shotgun”, Bloody Beetroot’s “Warp 1.9″, and Benny Benassi’s “House Music. I never would have thought these three tracks could blend together but Ken Loi made it happen. A lot of bootlegs usually have the trouble of really blending the tracks together and while listening it’s obvious that you’re hearing several tracks. Ken Loi actually mixes the songs together in a way that the transitions sound seamless, and sounds like it could be an actual track as opposed to just a bootleg.
